SWIMMING LESSON CURRICULUM
Watertown - Mayer Community Education offers Swimming and Water Safety programs for swimmers of all ages. Our swim instruction offers a stronger emphasis on drowning prevention and water safety - ideal for anyone who wants to enjoy the water safely, regardless of age or skill level.
There are three levels of preschool classes for children who are ages 4 to 5.
Children should be age 6 to start Levels 1- through 6.

SWIMMING LESSON AGE REQUIREMENTS
Parent & Child Class: 6 months - 3 years
Preschool Level 1 – 3 Classes: 4 - 5 years
Levels 1 – 6 Classes: 6 years and up
Please refer to the certificate from your child’s last class or see the Swim Class Descriptions for help determining which level your child is in. If your child is younger than 6 years old register for Parent & Child or Preschool 1-3 classes.
Parent / Child classes are 30 minutes
Preschool classes are 35 minutes
Levels 1 - 6 are 40 minutes
A $5.00 per participant per class processing fee will be withheld from all refunds.
ATTENTION PARENTS OF DIAPER AGE CHILDREN
Plastic pants with tight fitting elastic around the legs and waist or a swim diaper must be worn in order to take swimming lessons.
The pool will be closed and efforts will be made to notify participants in the event of extreme deck and water temperatures or contamination as recommended by the Department of Health.

The pool is a great place to bring a church group, scouting group or enjoy a birthday party Events can also be scheduled please call our community education office at 952-955-0280 two week prior to schedule an event. See our party packages offered throughout the year for pre-planned activities open to the community.
AMERICAN RED CROSS-WATER SAFETY INSTRUCTION COURSE
This class is for all those who love children and enjoy swimming. The American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor class will give you the tools to be able to teach Red Cross swimming AQlessons and help others to enjoy the aquatic environment in a safe manner. Prerequisites include: at least 16 years of age by the end of class, mature and responsible personality, and at least Level 5 swim skills. Students will need to complete a total of 30 hours to become WSI Certified. Class will be held at the Watertown-Mayer High School Pool. Interested students should call the Community Ed Office at 952-955-0280.
